Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
of
May 28, 2014
The meeting was called to order at 1905 by President Louie Leone.
The Pledge of Allegiance was followed by an opening prayer led by Chaplain Royer Pfersick.
Members present were President Louie Leone, 1st Vice President Dale Nesbitt, 2nd Vice President Gordon Burris, Secretary Diana Pfersick, Treasurer William Nichols, Jr. Past President Glenn Klingenberger, Board Members Charles Bommele, Steve Grandusky, Alan Way, Lynd Hicks, David Sweet, Richard Diehl, Robert Chichester. Also present were Chaplain Royer Pfersick, Al Sweet, James Princehorn, Christopher Dunn, and Clarence Spohr.
Excused were Directors Gary Boccacci and Ken Fuller.
A motion was made by Al Way, seconded by Richard Diehl and carried to approve the minutes of the April meeting.

Diana Pfersick notedInformation was received from Western regarding their convention in July.

Treasurer’s Report
The full report was emailed to members. William Nichols reviewed bills received from the banquet and other budgeted items that need to be paid. A motion was made by Glenn Klingenberger, seconded by Richard Diehl and carried to acknowledge the treasurer’s report.

Louie Leone noted that the Ray Emma Award nomination letters will be going out.
Banquet
Dale Nesbitt noted he had positive comments from banquet attendees. There were 54 total attendees with 11 guests. He thanked all who helped. He noted that next year the Ladies would like to do a picnic.

Chris Dunn questioned why he and Jim Princehorn were not listed on committee list as they have been before. This will be corrected.

Royer Pfersick reported that there will be an Explorer training day at Henrietta #6 in July. Specific date TBA.

Health Fair
Robert Chichester reported that information was received for this year’s health fair. It will be at the RIT Inn and Conference Center on September 30th from 9:30 to 4 PM. A motion was made by Dick Diehl,seconded by Glenn Klingenberger and carried to send in application or two tables as in past.

Gordon Burris reported that the Convention is Saturday, June 7th at the Benton Fire Department. Registration starts at 8 AM. The Convention starts at 9 AM.

Al way said that Larry Ritz would be sending a full report. There was a communications summit held on May 10th. The Fire Investigator had reported there were 85 calls to investigate; 28 junior fire starter. MCC is offering a new Fire Tech degree program.

Al Way reported that there are 69 members at the home. A couple more may be joining. The annual soft ball tournament will be the first weekend in August.

Diana Pfersick reported that there had been a water fatality in Honeoye Falls Honeoye Creek of a 20 year old when a canoe capsized.

President
Louie Leone had a white sweatshirt that he had done up by Uniform Express with MCVFA logo. He asked members if would like something like that available. Cost of set up was $85.00.
After discussion, decision was a gold shirt was more practical in a gray color. A motion was made by Al Way, seconded by Dale Nesbitt and carried to go ahead with golf shirt order. A motion was made by Dale Nesbitt, seconded by Lynd Hicks and carried to have Louie turn in receipt of cost of set-up to treasurer for reimbursement.

NEW BUSINESS
Glenn Klingenberger questioned the committee list that was sent out. There are many discrepancies and needs to be corrected. After much discussion, Louie Leone assigned review of the committee list to Dale Nesbitt.
Royer Pfersick asked where the bell is that is used in recognition of deceased members at convention. Multiple responses were that Gene Renner has it.
Glenn Klingenberger expressed concern regarding meeting decorum and requested that all meetings be run with proper respect for all.

A motion was made by Richard Diehl, seconded by Glenn Klingenberger and carried to pay bills as presented by William Nichols.

Jim Princehorn noted that the IRS 990 does not list all members of the board. Bill Nichols said the preparer of the tax papers only include table officers.

After a closing prayer by Chaplain Royer Pfersick, a motion was made by Glenn Klingenberger, seconded by Alan Way and carried to adjourn the meeting at 2036.
