Monroe County Volunteer Firemen’s Association

Board of Directors Workshop Meeting Minutes

of

January 14, 2015

 

The meeting was called to order at 1905 by President Louie Leone.

The Pledge of Allegiance was followed by an opening prayer led by Chaplain Royer Pfersick.             

Present were board members David Sweet, Royer Pfersick, Robert (Bob) Chichester, Richard  (Dick)Diehl, 1st Vice President Dale Nesbitt, 2nd Vice President Gordon Burris, Secretary Diana Pfersick, President Louie Leone, Treasurer William (Bill) Nichols and committee chair Clarence Spohr.

 

Excused were Alan Way, Chris Dunn and Glenn Klingenberger.

 

A motion approve the minutes of the December BOD meeting was made by Louie Leone, seconded by Bob Chichester, and carried.

Treasurer’s Report

Bill Nichols sent the treasurer's report via email.  Bill asked the President why the bills were not asked to be paid in December. He noted that he, Diana Pfersick and Dave Sweet had all noted when the December meeting was asked to be adjourned that the bills needed to be addressed, but the meeting adjourned without doing so.  A motion was made by Dick Diehl, seconded by Dave Sweet and carried to pay the bills from the December meeting.

Diana Pfersick said will defer until next week’s quarterly meeting.

Louie Leone said perhaps the Explorer Award could be a Post award. Royer Pfersick suggested that Posts get certificates based on 10 year increments of activity with plaques for 25, 50, etc..  Royer will check with Exploring office for data.

Dick Diehl noted that the Henrietta Captain Chuck Marshall was named Assistant Coordinator.

 

Reports of the Presidents

 

President

Louie Leone reported that he gave out a folder with information about MCVFA to the recruit graduates.  A copy was passed around.

Gordon Burris noted that Ben Hall from Northern Central who was in hospital same time as Jonathan Davis passed away on January 2nd.

Bills

Bill Nichols reported that Support Services has been very active since new year has started.  A motion was made by Dick Diehl, seconded by Bob Chichester, and carried to pay the bills.

 

Sick and Distressed

Gordon Burris noted that Jonathan Davis keeps a smile on his face.  Henrietta #1 gave him a blanket that he uses every day.

 

Good of Organization

Royer Pfersick said we need to be alert for terror cells.  Recent news only reports a very little bit of what is happening.

 

Next Meeting of the BOD is February 25th.

 

Next Quarterly Meeting of the Organization January 22 at the Publiic Safety Training Facility.

After a closing prayer by Chaplain Royer Pfersick, a motion was made to adjourn at 1928 by Dick Diehl, seconded by Bob Chichester and carried.
