Minutes > December 19, 2007 Board Minutes

The regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Directors, Committee Chairpersons, Delegates and Representatives was called to order by the President, Mr. Lawrence A. Ritz at 7:30 PM, after a wonderful buffet dinner prepared and served by the staff at the Barnard Fire Department Exempts Club, located in Greece, NY.

The attending guests of the association were introduced by the Association President, Mr. Lawrence A. Ritz.

The assembly was led in the Pledge of Allegiance and there was an opening prayer off offered for guidance in the matters that may be brought to the floor by the attendees.

With the taking of the roll, it was determined that a quorum existed with which to conduct all business brought to the floor by the attendees.

Because this meeting is designated the “Annual Christmas Party”, all Committee reports were suspended in favor of review at the next meeting of the Board of Directors……save the Treasurer’s Report which was discussed and entered into the official records of the Association.

There was a motion called for by the President to authorize the paying of all the financial obligations of the Association for the time period covered by the current Treasurer’s Report.  1st by Mr. M. Smith.  2nd by Mr. A. Way.  The motion was carried with no discussion by voice acclimation.  There were no dissentions.

With no additional concerns of an emergent nature, there was a motion made by Mr. M. Smith to adjourn the business meeting in favor of dinner and socialization by the attendees.  This motion was 2nd by Mr. L. Leone.  The motion was carried by voice acclimation.  There was no dissent.

Respectfully Submitted,

A Fireman's Prayer
When I am called to duty, God, whenever flames may rage, give me strength to save some life, whatever be its age. Help me embrace a little child before it is too late, or save an older person from the horror of that fate.  Enable me to be alert and hear the weakest shout and quickly, and efficiently to put the fire out.  I want to fill my calling, and to give the best in me, to guard my every neighbor and protect his property.  And if according to my fate, I am to lose my life, please bless with your protecting hand my family, friends and wife.
