WNYVFA Trustee Report

January 28, 2010

The first quarterly meeting was held January 10, 2010 at Shawnee Fire Department, located in Niagara County, the site for this year's Convention.  The officers for 2010 are:

            President,                           Marc Kasprzak, Niagara County

!st Vice Pres.                      Primo Biscaro, Wyoming County

2nd Vice Pres.                    Gerald Gehrig, Livingston County

Jr. Past Pres.                      Leo Grenier, Erie County

            Secretary                            Wendi Walker

             Asst. Sec.                           Tim Tyrrell

            Treasurer                            Tom McLaughlin

            Asst. Treas.                        Jack Hurlburt

The mailings are out to member Departments for the bowling tournament, Fireman of the Year, Fireman service awards and Fire Police Officer of the Year.   Other mailings should be coming soon for other activities and programs. Barnard was the recipient last year of the Fireman of the Year award.  That was the only entrant from Monroe County for any awards presented.  I strongly urge our Western member departments to send in nominees for this year's awards. I have letters with me that give the guidelines if any one needs them.

All of us in Western mourne the loss of Paul Oehmler from Erie County who was our Steering Committee Chair.  The Committee will be meeting shortly to elect a new Chairman and continue to promote candidates for FASNY.

The Trustees are looking in to purchasing electrical supplies to be rented to departments hosting conventions to help defray their costs incurred, as this seems to be the major expense for a host department.

The remaining quarterly meetings are  April 11,June 13 andSeptember 12.  All are on Sundays starting at 2:00 P.M in Shawnee,3747 Lockport Road, Sanborn, N.Y.  Convention will be there July 21 to 24.  I do not know the exact Banquet date as of yet.

All is progressing towards having another great Convention in 2010.

                                                                                                Kenneth R. Fuller, Trustee.
