    Chairman Donald Fox called the April 8, 2008 meeting of the 2008 FASNY Convention Committee to order at 7:35 PM.

    Don reported that the Visitor’s Bureau will be present at the Ladies hotel to do name tags and to hand out info on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings.  Don will arrange for bags for the girls to put handout material in.

    Bonnie Sweet has e-mail Mike Whelan in regards to ribbons.  She has not heard back from him as yet.

    On Friday April 818th the ladies are going to tour the hotel the ladies will be using.

    Bill reported he has to date 830 room nights at the Clarion, 83 room nights at the Hyatt and 4 room nights at the Crown Plaza.  He will be turning in the FASNY family money received to date.

    Ways & Means – Larry reported ticket money has not been coming is as yet.

    It was reported that Marketing Squad has lain off our drive for a month and then will be getting going again.  Drive is way behind last year.

    County Hospitality – Don plans on getting with Gordy and going to Tops and Wegmans soon.  We are figuring on lunch on Wed., Thurs., & Fri. for about 45 people per day.

    Don reported that we will need 60 baskets with local items.  Wegmans will be contact to attempt to get items with Wegmans on it.  Don and the ladies will also be contacting other local companies looking for items with a local company name on it.

    Don will contact Wayne Jaygo in regards to the memorial service and what he will need.  We have an organ and organist.  Don will check to see which of two groups Wayne would like.

    Tom has contacted the local bands in regards to the concert.  Don has been notified we may need a permit to use the park.

    Nothing new to report in regards to the October Fest.

    Karen reported that the shirts will be hunter green with dark green collars with a white stripe.  Lettering will be in green and gold.  She is still working on the logo and is not satisfied with the one the company has submitted.
    Golf has turned in $700.00 to date with a number of FASNY people still needing to send in everything. 

    There was a discussion on how many to figure on for Breakfast.  Carl and Zip will work it out.

    Al reported he has been in contact with the Brewery.  They will supply what is needed for Wed. and Thurs. night and if possible they would like to supply anyone interested.

    Don reported he has not heard an answer in regards to the radios as yet.

    Bill Nichols has recommended Bob Faugh and Al Sweet to represent the local
committee for the FASNY Fire Fighter Games.

    The next meeting of the Committee will be at Penfield #2 on May 13, 2008 at 7:30 PM.

    The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 PM.
