MCVFA Convention Meeting May 13, 2008   Penfield #2

Attending:  Bonnie and Dave Sweet, Bill Nichols, Mike Smith, Carl Veltri, Larry Ritz, Lynn Mack, Don Fox, Gene Renner, Gordie Burris

Vendors- Larry Sims will be assisted by Bob Ockenden and Forrest Skelton. The vendor display area will be kept in the area as originally planned.

FASNY Lunches- FASNY will hold three lunches for their officials this committee’s obligation will be to furnish a room and  audio / video equipment they may need.

Clarion remodeling is finished and the lobby looks like a completely different hotel. Mr. Nichols hopes the hotel co-operation on firming up refreshment prices will also improve.

Hospitality rooms- Wegman’s has donated a lunch set up for one lunch and also 60 bottles of MOJO sauce for the gift baskets. Gordie Burris will watch over one hospitality room and Zip Kraemer and Carl Veltri will watch over the other.

Gordie will also contact Tops, Aldies, and Heleva Good Cheese for soda and snacking material.

Monte Carlo Night- Mike Smith discussed the event. It will be on Wednesday 8/20/08 starting at 8:00 PM. It was decided to have 12 playing tables and 14 dealers. Mike will contact Mr. Gilcrest to make final arrangements.

Special Memorial- St. Paul would like to set up a memorial for Ray Emma of some kind in our hospitality room and also donate some  refreshments.

 There was also a discussion on setting up a memorial for Ray Emma, Red VerWeire and George Clohessy it was not decided on how exactly to do this.

FASNY Memorial Service- the Protectives will assist in the ceremony. They have singer and an organist lined up.

Octberfest party- 54 signed up so far.

Radios- nothing promised at this time.

Way & means- Raffle tickets moving very slow. The drawing will be on the Thursday of the convention week in the hospitality room. Please hustle the tickets.

Motion made and carried to pay $10.00 to the City of Rochester for a band concert permit.

Ladies Auxiliary- Bonnie sweet reported they are waiting for badge prices from two vendors. Their lunch tickets are selling OK. The Convention shirts are in the works.

Registration - Mr. Gene Renner and Mr. Mike Smith will work the registration desk.

 Golf tournament- Mr. Fox asks that a letter go out asking for golf tournament sponsors.
