Senator Alesi Press Conference - Thank you to all the Officials, Officers and agencies that were present at the event on May 21st at Perinton Ambulance.  Senator Alesi has been a Great supporter of his areas Emergency Services and this was a opportunity to publically acknowledge these contributions, as well as Thank him for this service.

Newest EMT's:  At some time in the past, we ALL were the newest member and looked to the Senior Members of our agency to welcome us and help us learn the ways of the organizations and community that we have signed up to serve in.  Please take that extra moment to make sure that we keep these Newest members and make them feel part of the Emergency Service family, so soon they will be welcoming the next group of new members to help serve

Memorial Day: This Federal holiday, first observed in 1865 is designed to commemorate U.S. men and woman who have perished while in military service to their country.  Please pause a moment to reflect on the service that these Heroes have performed to allow us the freedoms that we have in this country.  Please also take the time to reflect and Thank the Service Personal that are currently serving thruout the world.

Please take this time, while enjoying a Safe and Injury Free Holiday.

State Rehab Class - June 27 and 28, 2008 - Please look for the formal announcement on this class which is provided by the State Fire Office, but please be aware that this class is for EVERYONE  who is involved in Emergency Services and could be responsible for Rehab at a Emergency Scene.   Please plan to join us for this valuable class, which will cover a variety of subjects regarding Rehab, as well as the local plan that our agencies operate under in this region.

This class is just one of the many offered by this office that is available to ALL Emergency Responders, from all agencies.  For a complete list of the Quality classes offered, please contact Jason France at the Monroe County Fire Bureau

HYPER-REACH: The Monroe County 911 Center has the ability to notify your household for emergency situations, such as weather, chemical releases, evacuation instructions, lost citizen notifies or other situations where a specific geographical area/municipality  would be targeted for this information.  This system involves a pre-recorded/written message that can be sent to your home phone, mobile phone, computer or pager  or other communication devices.
This notification can be via voice, text, combination text/voice, e-mail or TTY/TDD.

ALL hard wired house phones are automatically registered, by your phone carrier.  To have notification to your mobile phone, pager or computer, you must register these devices at www.monroecounty.gov and click on the 911 registration in the upper right area.

Please sign up using this easy notification system to keep you and your family informed of important information related to your home, even when you are not there or available to your house phone system

Summer Safety: Every four (4) hours a child is struck in the driveway of a home.  Please walk around any vehicle you are operating prior to moving it, as well as insure that children are both aware the vehicle is moving and have been moved a safe distance away before operating the vehicle.

On Two Wheels - As gasoline prices rise and summer heats up, more bike(s) will be on the road.  Please set the example and insure that everyone in your family wears a properly fitted bike or motorcycle helmet.  The proper use of a bike helmet can reduce the risk of head injury up to 85%.

Summer Start: While there are many milestones that mark the start of summer, such as Memorial Day, last day of school or the opening of the swimming pool, none is more fun then the Mendon Carnival and Parade.  Please plan to support this family activity.  Starting Thursday, May 29th, the ride, food start and performances start, culminating on Saturday night at 1830 with their annual parade and activities following the parade.  Please go to http://www.mendonfd.us  for a full list of activities and times
