Current Information - All Third Battalion agencies have had their Officers updated at both 911 and for the 2008 Fire/EMS Directory. All Emergency Service agencies are asked to insure that your information is always kept current at 911, Fire/EMS Bureau, as well as the STEP directory web site. These updates insure that the proper person in your organization is being contacted.
9-1-1 CAD Replacement - The Monroe County 911 Center is in the planning process of a replacement project involving the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. This system is being planned for use for 15+ years from installation and your input is needed. If you have a suggestion on how this multi-functional information dispatch system can be upgraded, please e-,ail your suggestions to 911cadreplacement@monroecounty.gov .
There also will be vendor demonstrations on March 4, 5 and 6, 2008 at the Monroe Community Hosp to allow hands-on and vendor presentations of their system. All Emergency Service are encouraged to attend these demo's to be part of the process to develop this new project that will help to streamline Emergency Services and it's operations for years to come
First 9-1-1 Call - This weekend, February 16th marks the 40th anniversary of the 1st 9-1-1 call, which was made in Haleyville, AL. This nationwide system became a mandate in 1967, creating a coast to coast universal Emergency phone number to notify ALL Emergency Services.
Third Battalion Training Officers meeting - The first 2008 meeting will be held on Monday, February 18, 2008 at 1900 hours, in conjunction with a training event that Perinton Ambulance has planned. The training meeting will follow at approx. 1930 hours to discuss the 2008 EMS training plans, schedules and events.
Finger Lakes Regional EMS Conference - The Finger Lakes Regional EMS Council is sponsoring there yearly EMS Education/Vendor conference on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Finger Lakes Community College. A pre-confrence EMS educational day will be hosted also on Friday, February 22nd at the Geneva Extension facility. Please see the attachment for details.
ChartSmarts - A Special Thank You to the team at Perinton Ambulance that have taken on the EPCR experience with vigor and have helped to educate everyone both in and outside of their agency on the EmsCharts program. Their weekly tips on how to better utilize this program has proven very valuable. Thanks to this group for helping to make this transition easier.
