MCVFA 4th Battalion Director George Clohessy Director 2007  Monday, October 1, 2007, at age 62. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Rose Clohessy; children, Colleen (Keith) Baker of IL, Rick (Donna) Clohessy of MD, Michael (Erin) Clohessy of IL; grandchildren, Patti, Annette, Nicole, Ashleigh, Honor, Gregory & Jonathan; great-grandson, Joshua; sister, Joyce (Richard) Neubauer; brother, Richard (Donna) Landers; his special sister-in-law, Sharon (Angelo) Mammarello; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joseph (Linda) Guay, Diane (Edward) Coccia, Phyllis (Dana) Granger, Mary (Frank) Presciutti, Theresa (John) Coval, many nieces and nephews. George was a lifetime member of the Gates-Chili Fire Dept for 37 years, a Committee Member of Gates-Chili Fire Explorers, and Director of Monroe County Volunteer Fireman's Assocociation.

Survived by his wife, Patricia; 2 daughters, Tracey North of Arlington, VA, Robyn (Timothy) Knowlton of Gouverneur, NY; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. Bob, who retired from the Dept. of Health, Education and Welfare, Social Security Administration, was a member and Past President of the Gates Chili Fire Dept.; member and Past President of the Monroe County Volunteer Fireman's Assoc.; member and Officer of Kenmore, NY Volunteer Fire Dept.; and a member of the Northern Central, Western and Southwestern Volunteer Firemen's Assoc.; the Firemen's Assoc., of the State of New York (FASNY); Western NY Drill Team Assoc.; Waken-Hubbard Masonic Lodge, Damascus Temple and a Shriner.

MCVFA Past President Raymond J. Emma   MCVFA President 1994-1996 November 14, 2007, age 64. Predeceased by his father, Leonard V. Emma. Survived by his wife, Judy (Dalle); daughters, Susan (Stewart) Bell and Elizabeth Higgins. He is also survived by his mother, Sylvia Emma; sisters, Marilyn (Jerry) Gardner and Kathy (John) Potter of PA. He leaves his grandchildren, many friends and relatives. Ray was a Past Chief of the St. Paul Blvd. Fire Association, President of the Northern Central Volunteer Firemen's Association, Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Western New York Volunteer Firemen's Association, Chairman of the Fire Prevention Committee for the MCVFA and a member of the Firemen's Association of the State of New York (FASNY) FIre Prevention Committee.

Monroe County Executive Deputy Fire Coordinator Edward J. "Red" VerWeire   December 13, 2007. Survived by his wife Loretta; children Linda (John Wooden) Thoms, Lawrence (Patricia) VerWeire & Beverly (Timothy) Donovan; sister Ruth (Bernard) Beyer; brothers Charles (Georgiana) & Robert (Jean); 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins & many dear friends. Red was Executive Deputy Fire Coordinator for the Monroe County Fire Bureau, Past Chief and Commissioner of the Gates Fire District, Past Executive Committee member for FASNY, member of the Gates Fire District Exempts Association, WNYVFA, NCVFA, and MCVFA.

MCVFA Past 4th Battalion Director Richard Elmer Gates: Friday, August 15, 2008, at age 73. He was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Marion Elmer; his sister and brother-in-law Evelyn and Leonard LeBeau; brothers Walter, Gerald and Gene Elmer; brother in-law Marion Fry. He is survived by his sister Irene Fry; sister-in-law Lois Elmer; nieces and nephews Leonard (Mary) LeBeau Jr., Marie (Gene) Newman, Carol and Christine LeBeau, Lori Schmidt, Kevin Fry. Sharon Elmer, Jean (Michael) Smith, William, Margaret, Catherine and Maria Elmer, Dolores (Anthony) Gratto and Lucy Sulkowski; many lifelong friends including the Richard & William Maier families, the VerWiere family, the Thurley family, Tom and Jackie Roach, Tony Yazback, Kevin and Nancy Kailborn and Harry Griffin. Dick was a 47 year member of the Gates Chili Volunteer Fire Department, House #2, social member of the Spencerport Fireman Exempt Club, an active volunteer with many police organizations, a member of the International Harvester NYS Chapter #35, an Army veteran and a member of Belmont American Legion Post #808, an avid Miami Dolphin and NASCAR fan.

MCVFA Past President Donald H. Fox MCVFA President 1984 -1986 Fairport: April 8, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; 7 children, Karen (Richard) Riordan, Keith (Laurie), Donald Paul (Virginia), Michael, Susan (Edward) Walter, Stephen (Megan), Patrick (Stephanie); 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; special cousins, Jack and Linda Schaefer; brother-in-law, Robert Jennings; sister-in-law, Donna Marrocco.Past President Fox was employed by Rochester Telephone for 42 years and was a member of Rochester Protectives. He was a long-time member and Secretary of the Fairport Fire Department and the DeLand Hose Company #1. Don was also a member of FASNY, NCVFA, WYVFA, NYS Chaplain Assoc., Past Trustee of the Fireman's Home on the Hudson and the Secretary of FASNY Museum of Firefighting. Don was a Past President of the MCVA and for many years was also the Chairman of the Monroe County Fire Prevention Essay Contest.

Past MCVFA Director Richard "Dick" Coon   West Brighton: On August 30, 2009, at age 80. Predeceased by his wife, Virginia; brother, Donald Coon; sister-in-law, Lorraine May. Survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David & Carol Coon; daughter and son-in-law, Pat & Herb Bietry; grandsons, Brian & Kevin Coon; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia (Al) Daly; nieces, Sheryl Hennekey and Julie Ann Caraselli; nephews, James Daly & Jeffrey May; best companion and co-pilot Nozzle. Richard was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Co. with 39 years of service. He was a life member of 58 years with the West Brighton Fire Dept. Past Director and member of the Monroe County Volunteer Firemen's Assoc., life member of the Monroe County Volunteer Fire Chiefs Assoc., Firemen's Assoc. of the State of New York, Monroe County Fire Police Assoc., NYS Fire Police Assoc. and the Rochester Model Railroad Club.

Hendrickson 12/16/2009 Survived by his loving wife of 59 years Esther, son; Thomas (Suzanne) Hendrickson, daughter; Deborah Hendrickson, grandchildren; Ronnie (Kimberly) & Bradley (Kelli) Hendrickson, brothers; Robert & Leonard Hendrickson, sister; Dorothy Ely, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son Kenneth, and brothers Eugene, Gordon & Bernard. Gerald was a member of the Clifton Fire Department for 45 years, where he served as Chief, Chili Grange for almost 60 years, and a member of the Chili American Legion.
